Hugh Grant in 'baked bean attack'
About A Boy actor Hugh Grant reportedly lashed out at a paparazzi photographer near his west London home after the snapper asked him to smile for the camera.
Bizarrely, the 46-year-old threw a full tub of baked beans at the photographer, Ian Whittaker, who claimed that Hugh let loose a barrage of abuse towards him that included wishing death on his children thanks to cancer.
"We were sat outside Liz Hurley's house which is two doors away from Hugh's when he turned up in his car," Mr Whittaker told the Daily Star.
"I said 'Give us a smile please' and he just looked really angry. He kicked me hard about three or four times and then he kneed me in the groin.
"He then hurled [a tub] at me and the beans flew everywhere. I couldn't believe it. It was the kind of thing you expect Pete Doherty to do, not Hugh Grant."
A spokesperson for the police confirmed that they were dealing with allegations of assault and said that they had arrested and questioned a 46-year-old man who had been bailed to return in May.
