The X Factor has The stink factor
9 October 2007 - 'The X Factor' is launching its own perfume.
The hit TV talent show is to launch two unisex fragrances - 'Day Dream' and 'Night Star' - which claim to let their wearers experience "the excitement and glamour of becoming a pop star".
A spokeswoman for the perfume said: "Since the talent show phenomenon first launched there has been massive debate about just what constitutes the X factor and more importantly who has it, and now it's been bottled for everyone."
'Day Dream' is scented with pink grapefruit, wild roses, amber and sandalwood, and 'Night Star' contains scents of nectarine, mandarin, pineapple, freesia, jasmine, patchouli, and vanilla.
The perfume range is the latest in a long line of money-making tricks from 'The X Factor'.
Viewers already have to pay each time they vote for their favourite act on the show, and can expect to pay up to £40 for 'The X Factor' tour tickets.
The perfumes will be launched on Friday (12.10.07), at a cost of £9.99 for a 50ml bottle.
'The X Factor' is the first British TV show to cash in on having its own perfume, but many celebrities have fragrances, including shamed 'Big Brother' star Jade Goody, David and Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez and P. Diddy.
