27 November 2007 - Nigella Lawson has confessed she used to steal food to create her lavish feasts.

The TV chef has revealed that as a student she used to go a raid of other people's fridges in her halls of residence to find scraps to turn into a meal for herself and friends.

Nigella confessed on her BBC show 'Nigella Express': "When I was a student I used to go on fridge raids to steal different cheeses from other people. Then I'd melt it all down to make a delicious cheese fondue.

"I worked as a waitress and most of what I ate was made from scraps I found in the restaurant's fridge."

The domestic goddess also revealed that her cooking has got her into trouble in the past.

The 47-year-old mother-of-two revealed: "My delicious cherry cheesecake one nearly got me suspended from school."
