Motown mentors Boyz II Men

X Factor - Boyz II Men to mentor finalists

18 October 2007 - Boyz II Men will be appearing on 'The X Factor' to coach contestants in a special Motown-themed show.

The US boyband - who became famous with their smooth tracks including 'I'll Make Love to You' and 'End of the Road' - will be acting as Motown mentors for the competitors on the November 3 show, ahead of their new Motown album release.

Band-member Shawn Stockman explained why they are such big fans of the music genre, saying: "We really wanted to pay tribute to an era that had such a major influence on our sound."

After coaching the hopefuls, the Philadelphia-based band will be performing tracks from their new album, 'Motown: Hitsville USA', due for release on November 5.

Wanya Morris, 34, said: "Everything on this record was recorded with all live instruments, and we were able to capture the feel, vibe and energy of these classic songs."

Celine Dion, Westlife, Rihanna and Michael Jackson will also be mentoring singers on the show.
