Daniels comments on Jose's departure

11 October 2007 - EastEnders actor and star of the classic mod movie Quadrophenia Phil Daniels has suggested that former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had "gone a bit stale" at Stamford Bridge.

Talking on BBC Radio Five Live, Chelsea fan Daniels said that he loved the outspoken Portuguese boss but is not particularly unhappy that he left the club, reports the Daily Mail.

He told the show: "I'm not one of those that is desperately unhappy. There was a lot of moaning about the way we were playing.

"It might be interesting to have a Dutch coach down there [at Stamford Bridge]."

Daniels, who plays the part of Kevin Wicks in the Albert Square-based soap, will be on Radio Five Live's 606 phone-in programme this week, offering his views on the football world and talking to the general public.

The show is presented by ex-Soccer AM frontman and current David Beckham's Soccer USA host Tim Lovejoy.

In addition to the football shows, Lovejoy is also currently appearing on the box on Saturday mornings, fronting the food and drink show Something for the Weekend. The programme involves celebrities cooking their favourite meals.
