Dancing on Ice - Make Me A Star is the new show to find the best non-celeb skater
17 January - Torvill and Dean are on the look out for the best no-celeb skater.
Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are to launch a brand new search for an ice skating sensation. Dancing On Ice: Make Me A Star will scour the country for Britain's most exciting ice talent culminating in a unique prize for one lucky skater.
Since Dancing On Ice launched two years ago, skating has taken the country by storm. Attendances at British ice rinks have increased and it's rapidly becoming one of the nation's favourite pastimes. Dancing On Ice: Make Me A Star offers the unique prize of an opportunity to perform at the 2009 Dancing On Ice Final in front of an audience of millions.
The search is on to find the best non-celeb skater. Not only do you need to know your inside edge from your outside edge and your pirouette from your triple axle but you'll also be a great performer. Only those that are most dedicated, skilful and entertaining will make the grade and be in with a chance to win this unique prize.
Hosted by Holly Willoughby, Dancing On Ice: Make Me A Star will also act as a curtain raiser to that Sunday night's Dancing On Ice. It will give an exclusive preview to the following day's show, offer unique behind the scenes access to the rehearsals and will track all the thrills and spills of that week's preparations for the glitziest, most glamorous and most popular entertainment show on television.
