Big Brother 8

BB not waiting for watchdog

TV watchdog Ofcom should release its report on the Celebrity Big Brother racism row before BB8 hits screens, according to Labour MP Keith Vaz.

The MP for Leiceter East said: "I am astonished that Channel 4 is to proceed with a new series of Big Brother before Ofcom has produced its report into the lamentable way with which they dealt with the complaints in the last series."

Nearly 46,000 complaints were received by Ofcom due to alleged racist bullying of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty by Jade Goody and other housemates.

But BB bosses are steaming ahead with BB8 regardless, with the show due to start on May 30th, although they have not yet chosen a final group of 12 housemates.

Host Davina McCall told the Mirror: "I spoke to one of the producers and they told me they still don't know exactly who is going in.

"They have got a shortlist now but they haven't decided exactly how many or which people will become housemates."

But luckily it seems the producers will be untroubled by Jade Goody's antics this series as she suggested she will go in for brain surgery to make herself less stupid.

"I have the correct wires but they just need rewiring and sorting out," the mouthy 25-year-old told the Mirror.
