MPs told Prince Wills will wed Kate
A royal photographer has told MPs that Prince William has spoken of his plans to get married to his girlfriend Kate Middleton.
Giving evidence to a House of Commons committee following incidents involving the paparazzi and Kate, Arthur Edwards said: "She [Kate] is a private citizen and she is in love with Prince William and I am sure that one day they will get married, I have talked to him about this.
"He has made it clear that he wants to get married and I believe what he says, and they should be left alone," he added.
But the rumours were denied in a statement from Clarence House which said that the prince did not have any plans to get engaged.
The government committee was holding a hearing into the media scrum of press photographers that followed Kate around on her 25th birthday which had led to claims that her privacy was being intruded upon.
Kate has been in the media spotlight ever since it emerged that she was dating William, who is second in line to the throne.
The couple met at St Andrews University in 2001 and have been dating since around Christmas 2003, although their romance was only revealed to the public after photographs of the pair on a skiing holiday were published in 2004.
