Beyonce visits gig firework victims

After pyrotechnics went awry at her gig in St Louis, Missouri, singer Beyonce Knowles made sure to check up on the injured fans.

The girlfriend of rapper Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter turned up at Barnes-Jewish hospital after the gig and spent 45 minutes chatting with the two fans in the emergency room, according to head nurse Darryl Williams.

"She was just very concerned about the people injured in the audience," he told the Associated Press.

"It was unannounced and we kept it very low-key so that she could spend time with them. I just thought it was a great thing for someone of her stature to do."

According to reports, fireworks meant to go off on stage accidentally shot out into the front row, causing minor injuries to two fans. Their names were not released, but both are expected to make a full recovery.

Former Destiny's Child singer Beyonce is currently in the middle of her world tour named The Beyonce Experience, which coincides with the release of a deluxe edition of her second solo album B'Day.
