X Factor - Simon Cowell plays matchmaker
24 December 2007 - Rhydian Roberts has been fixed up with a Christmas date by Simon Cowell, it emerged today.
Simon, who is known for his popularity with the ladies, sorted Rhyd with a date after he found out he had a crush on makeup artist Julia Carter.
The Sun revealed that after the Welshman admitted he had a soft spot for Simon's makeup girl, the judge fixed them up.
"Simon sorted it," said Rhyd, who could probably do with cheering up after losing the competition to Leon Jackson.
"She's on holiday but I hope to see her in the new year. She is lovely."
In related news, Leon told the newspaper last week that following a self-imposed 12-week nookie ban, he is ready to restart his love life after winning X Factor.
He said he shunned any female distractions during the contest as he wanted to give it his full attention - but he is back and ready for action since being crowned this year's champion.
Leon is not likely to be short of offers, given his popularity on the show and dark good looks.
In addition, hitting the top of the UK charts this weekend may have helped his chances somewhat!
