Strictly Come Dancing - Gethin Jones treats fan to a cuppa

19 December 2007 - Gethin Jones ended up taking a fan for a cuppa this week because she was upset he had left Strictly Come Dancing.

The Welsh Blue Peter presenter, who was booted out of the competition in the semi-final, told the Western Mail that he was enjoying some time off when he met some fans of the show.

After wishing him luck for the final, he confessed that he would not be competing - which caused the woman to get rather upset.

"I took her for a cup of tea & it was me consoling her. It just goes to show how emotional it all can get," Gethin explained.

The strapping Welshman proved a hit not just with the viewers but with judge Arlene Philips as well.

His partner, Camilla Dallerup, taught him a range of routines throughout the contest which saw him blossom from an awkward dancer to someone who seemed at ease with the complex steps and lifts.

Matt Di Angelo and Alesha Dixon are the remaining two celebrities left and will each perform five dances during the final, which is sure to be an extremely close race.
