David Walliams is Simon Cowell's biggest fan

1 November 2007 - David Walliams has confessed that he is a massive fan of X Factor judge Simon Cowell.

He told the Sun that he would be happy to take a place on the reality talent competition alongside his idol.

"I'm not the best singer but I wouldn't mind being a judge. Maybe in a few years' time," he remarked.

"To be on a show with Simon Cowell would be great. I love Simon. Everything he does is incredible."

In fact, the Little Britain comic declared his love of all talent competitions, explaining that X Factor is "wonderful" and Britain's Got Talent "was like a celebration of great British eccentricity".

His enjoyment of British music even extends to iconic girl group the Spice Girls, which David proclaimed "a great pop act".

Meanwhile, in other X Factor news, Simon recently said that he is at the centre of a competition for attention between Dannii Minogue and Sharon Osbourne, explaining that one of the women "sulks" when he shows the other more notice.

He added that "it's been very interesting watching how another woman has affected the dynamic of the group".

It was rumoured that competition between Dannii and Sharon was part of the reason behind the elder judge's recent walk-out.
