X Factor - Leona Lewis on her way to America, while Leon Jackson stays in the UK

3 January 2008 - Leona Lewis is hoping to crack America this year after her album Spirit became the fastest selling debut album ever in the UK.

Speaking to Kim Dawson of the Daily Star Leona talked about launching herself in the USA. Rumour has it that she will be appearing on American Idol.

Leona said:
"It's really exciting but I'm just taking one step at a time. It's a fresh start for me over there because they won't know me from X Factor...It's a new challenge but one that I'm excited about."

Leona is certainly full of fighting spirit:
"I think you have to be totally dedicated and hard-working. Things don't just fall on your lap, you must always remember that. You have to keep at it for success."

Leona has the best in the business backing her, Clive Davis who mentored Whitney Houston and the US hitmakers Dallas Austin, Ne-yo and Jesse McCartney.
