Dancing On Ice - Chris Fountain to play Wii with sports superstars
22 January 2008 - Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain has challenged Greg Rusedski and Steve Backley to play tennis and javelin on the Nintendo Wii.
The 20-year-old celebrity ice dancer told the Hollyoaks.com news team that gaming with his on-ice competitors - both of whom are world-class athletes - might be fun.
"I've challenged Steve to a game of javelin on the Wii and Greg Rudeski to a game of tennis on the Wii," he said. "If I win, I'll have to go to the papers and let them know."
Greg is a former British number one tennis champ and was presented with the award for BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 1997, while Steve has won medals for throwing the javelin at three consecutive Olympic games.
Competitive Chris may have to take care on the ice this week, as bookies have reported that popular ex-Pop Idol contestant Gareth Gates recently knocked him out of first place as most likely to win the skate-off.
Gareth's performance earned him a score of 19.5 during the last weekend's show and he is now in third place on the official leaderboard, tailing Chris and ex-Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw.
