Celebrity Big Brother Hijack - Anthony says he's more than an extra

21 January 2007 - Anthony Ogogo has told a trio of Hollyoaks actresses that he wants to be "more than an extra" if he appears on the teen soap.

The 19-year-old boxer told the housemates that the current celebrity hijackers - the McQueen sisters from the Chester-based programme - offered him a part as an extra on the show, according to a report from Digital Spy.

But Anthony claims he may want more than just a bit part on the show.

"They said Brian [Belo] from Big Brother was on it ... [but] I told them I'm more than an extra," he stated.

The current Celebrity Big Brother hijackers are Hollyoaks babes Jennifer Metcalfe, Claire Cooper and Gemma Merna, who play Mercedes, Jacqui and Carmel McQueen, respectively.

Last week, the Lowestoft Journal reported that Anthony is currently the talk of the town, with sister Toni saying her coworkers at the James Paget University Hospital are supporting her younger brother.

Headteacher John Clinton of Kirkley High School said the former student and current Olympic hopeful is an "extremely likeable young man" and a talented boxer.

However, it appears the his female housemates are more interested in Anthony's good looks than his boxing ability, as some have told him he will be able to find work modeling in girls' magazines after his stint on Celebrity Big Brother Hijack is finished.
