Delia to make TV comeback
After retiring from our tellies four years ago, celebrity chef Delia Smith is making her comeback.
She has been signed up by the BBC to front a weekly series due to start in the spring next year based on her 1971 book How to Cheat at Cooking.
But the show won't just rehash the old tricks of the culinary trade, Delia is planning some new ones as well.
"We're short-cutting all the rules," she said.
"Cheating has come on a lot and there's so much more available."
The show plans to focus on getting rid of the hassle of making healthy family meals.
In her four years away from television, Delia has concentrated her efforts on Norwich City FC which she and her husband Michael Wynn-Jones bought in 1996.
Apart from seeing some success at the club when it spent the 2004-05 season in the Premier League, Delia has opened five restaurants at the club's Carrow Road ground which have won awards from fans for the best quality food.
Delia's agent Debbie Owen said: "Delia has put loads of time and effort into the football club.
"Recently her thoughts have been returning to her career though and she's delighted to be back writing books and making TV programmes again."
