Angelina Jolie & Jennifer Aniston named joint "most powerful Actress"

26 September 2007 - Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston show that it's not only Brad Pitt they have in common after both being awarded the Guinness World Record for Most Powerful Actress.

Based on their earnings and PR coverage around the globe in the last year, the joint title has been officially unveiled in the new Guinness World Records 2008 edition, released on 28th September 2007.

The new book also announces that in spite of his sofa antics Tom Cruise has regained his crown as Most Powerful Actor pushing Johnny Depp off the top spot.

Cruise regains his record thanks to his earnings from War of the Worlds and the massive PR coverage from his high profile relationship with Katie Holmes and their baby Suri.

Samuel L Jackson shows his worth by being awarded the title of the Highest Grossing Actor at the Box Office with 75 films that have grossed over GBP3.95 billion worldwide, while Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson celebrate their record for Highest Average Box-Office Gross per Movie with a whopping GBP143.5 million each.

Funny man Baron Cohen and his film Borat break the record for Highest Grossing Mockumentary with earnings of $157,470,996 in 2006.

And it's official - Spiderman 3 won the war of the trilogies beating Pirates of the Caribbean 3 to the record for Highest Box Office Film Gross for the Opening Weekend with a staggering GBP75.7 million!

And in the true spirit of Guinness World Records, fans can rest assured that the weird, the wacky and the downright bizarre are still making their mark.
