X Factor - Daniel De Bourg liar claims

15th October 2007 - X Factor finalist Daniel De Bourg has been branded a liar by the mother of his son Theron.

Daniel has been accused of trying to fool viewers with his "doting dad" image by Theron's mother Rachel, who claims that he refused to support his son for nearly three years.

The aspiring singer won over the hearts of viewers and has become favourite to win this year's contest after speaking about his relationship with three-year-old son Theron on the show.

Rachel told the News of the World: "I'm livid! Daniel wanted me to get rid of our baby when I told him I was pregnant. And for almost three years he did nothing to help me.

"But now he's trying to portray himself as a caring single dad and paint a halo over himself. He has no right to use my son to boost his TV career."

"It's only recently that Daniel walked back into our lives and I told him, 'You're a part-time dad.' Now he's told all these lies, it's fuelled my anger even more."

Rachel's brother Ed added: "I'm convinced he is just using Theron to promote his public image. Rachel didn't want the boy to go on the telly but Dan even went behind her back and used him in the filming.

"My sister was livid. After two years of ignoring her child Dan went on TV to proclaim himself the caring dad and rubbed her out of the whole equation."
