Posh and Becks: Comedy double act?

They may not be pleased about it, but David and Victoria Beckham have been nominated as Funniest Double Act for a comedy awards ceremony.

The celebrity couple are up against some tough competition in the Loaded Laftas Comedy Awards, including comedians like Alan Carr and Justin Lee Collins from The Friday Night Project, as well as David Mitchell and Robert Webb from Peep Show.

In the Funniest Reality TV Person category, Jordan's husband Peter Andre is nominated for his role in the couple's show.

Big Brother winner Brian Belo, I'm a Celebrity & Get Me Out of Here! contestant David Gest and The Apprentice's Tre Azam round out the category.

Loaded editor Martin Daubney commented on the Beckhams' surprise nomination: "Perhaps it's Victoria's growing comedy chest or her attempts to integrate into American culture by pitching at baseball matches that have had the British public laughing.

"The Laftas are voted for by the great British public which makes them the only comedy awards worth their salt. What we have here are the funniest fellas and fillies in the land - and a few surprises, too."

It was recently announced that Victoria was set to make her comedic acting debut on US television, playing herself in an episode of Ugly Betty.
