Dancing on Ice - Philip Schofield to front new show

11 January 2008 - Dancing on Ice presenter Philip Schofield is to take on a new project with his This Morning co-host Fern Britton.

The Sun revealed that Philip and Fern - who often amuse viewers when they get a fit of the giggles live on air - will host a new version of Mr & Mrs.

Originally produced in the 1970s, the game show involved real-life couples being tested about their marriage and see if they were in tune with their partner.

However, the updated version will see celebrities quizzed about their husband or wife.

Stars such as Vic Reeves and his wife Nancy Sorrell are due to appear on the show, in addition to Coronation Street foghorn Vicky Entwistle and her hubby Andy Chapman.

It is also thought that Little Britain and Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Anthony Head will participate with his partner, Sarah Fisher.

Meanwhile, an ITV source told the newspaper why they had chosen to keep the pairing of Phil and Fern for another show.

"We think Phil and Fern have great chemistry together," the insider divulged. "We've ordered a whole series and we're really excited."

Viewers can see Phil on Dancing on Ice from Sunday.
