Big Brother Celebrity Hijack - Contestants told to break a leg

7 January 2008 - The Big Brother house came over all dramatic on Sunday when the housemates were ordered to make up a play and perform it.

After celebrity hijackers Matt Lucas and Ian Wright, actor Alan Cumming took the reins and set the group a task involving improvisation and the structure of a "classic" play.

Alan gave each housemate a costume and encouraged them to really sink their teeth into characters for a 15-minute piece they had to make up in 45 minutes.

The prize was a luxury meal - which in the Big Brother house is worth its weight in gold.

He also told the group that the play must contain elements of classic drama such as a love affair, a murder and a mistaken identity.

"Add anything else you fancy," he said. "The performance needs a name and every character must speak or grunt.

"And it's gotta be good."

The actor, who has starred in Hollywood fare such as X2 and Goldeneye, is the third celebrity to hijack Big Brother since it started on Thursday.

Others set to take over are reported to include Jimmy Carr and Joan Rivers.
