Britney Spears goes British and denies her roots

Britney Spears has started speaking with a British accent. People.com have reported that the troubled singer has started to speak with a British accent while wearing a pink wig. Britney has been filmed several times over the last few weeks speaking with a British accent instead of her normal Louisiana accent. Is Britney leaving her Louisiana roots behind?

A source told People.com "She had the English accent thing going the whole time...It didn't stop."

People.com have asked L.A. psychologist Renee A.Cohen for her opinion on Britney's strange behaviour.

Renee said, "When someone has dissociative identity disorder" – formerly known as multiple personality disorder – "each identity is split off from the other."

She added, "Each identity would have its own name, memories, behavioral traits and emotional characteristics."

So has Britney got a multiple personality disorder or is she just messing about?

Renee asked People.com,
"When Britney uses the British accent, or appears to take on another identity, does she know she's Britney Spears?"

"Otherwise, she could simply be behaving this way for attention, for sympathy, or any other reason...It's foolish to attempt to diagnose her without a formal evaluation."

Britney does have British links. Her grandmother is from England as is her new man Adnan Ghalib.
