Amelle Berrabah dumps lover

Amelle Berrabah has dumped boyfriend Freddie Fuller after receiving death threats from angry fans.

The Sugababe singer's relationship with Freddie - who is currently on bail accused of raping her younger sister - has enraged fans, leading to several death threats.

The 23-year-old singer announced the split after reports the pair were secretly engaged.

She said: "I have split from Freddie for good and am recording with the girls. My life is back on track."

Her older sister Zakiya told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Amelle has been going through a really tough time. She has got death threats and abuse because of her relationship with Freddie.

"She even had her car tyres slashed. She has told me they have split for good and she doesn't want to be with him anymore."

Amelle's romance with Freddie, who denies the rape charges, has caused huge friction in her family.

Zakiya claims the stress of the situation left Amelle depressed and struggling to fulfil her band commitments.

She said: "The pressure was so great that she had to miss a show at Crathes Castle due to depression.

"There were stories that Amelle went to a hotel in Surrey to get engaged but she was actually in the room alone suffering depression."

Amelle is now in a London studio with Sugababes bandmates Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range working on two new singles.
