Wedding deal for the Rooneys
Wayne Rooney and Coleen McLoughlin have signed a £1.5 million deal with Hello! which gives the celebrity magazine exclusive rights to their wedding.
In one of the largest celebrity deals ever, they will also give photographers access to Coleen's 21st birthday celebrations which will feature a performance from rapper P Diddy.
In terms of price, the couple's bumper deal pushes out such wedding exclusives as the Beckham's and Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones', which both received around £900,000.
And even more recent hitches have cashed less, such as Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar's wedding in England and India earlier this year which Hello! paid £1 million for the rights to cover.
A friend of the couple, who are due to be married in the summer of 2008, told the Sun: "They know how much they can earn as a brand. They're cashing in."
The new tabloid favourites have recently boosted their coffers in other ways, after Wayne signed a £100,000-a-week deal at Manchester United in November 2006 and Coleen's number one best-selling autobiography Welcome To My World netted her a £400,000 advance.
