The National Movie Awards 2007

25 September 2007 - ITV1 hosts the first-ever National Movie Awards, a glittering event to celebrate and award the most successful films and their stars from the past year, all voted for by the British public.

Hosted by actor and comedian Alexander Armstrong, the National Movie Awards looks back over the last year in cinema, from tearjerkers and riotous comedies to gripping dramas and spectacular blockbusters, and asks the movie-going public to vote for their favourites in categories that include action/adventure, comedy, family film, and best male and female performances.

With surprise acts and exclusive entertainment including Take That performing their brand new single live, and brought to ITV from the production company behind the hugely successful National Television Awards, The National Movie Awards is a ceremony not to be missed.

Votes have poured in throughout the summer in a massive paper ballot involving every cinema in the country, as well as online, telephone and text voting.

As the first awards show of the season, the National Movie Awards will include this summer’s blockbusters going head-to-head in a fight for honours will all the other high grossing films from the last year.

An extra treat in store for film fans will be a sneak preview of some of the major movies scheduled for release in the autumn.

The film fans’ choices will be revealed in a star-studded ceremony on the 28th September held at London’s Royal Festival Hall in a night of glitz, glamour, tension and triumph, set to become established as one of the biggest nights in the British cinema calendar.
