I'm A Celebrity - Dean Gaffney stands up for pal Marc Bannerman
22 November 2007 - Fellow former EastEnder and I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here contestant Dean Gaffney this morning defended friend Marc Bannerman's outrageous flirting antics in the jungle this past week.
Marc has been cuddling up to ex-Catatonia singer Cerys Matthews while his stunned girlfriend Sarah Matravers watched from home in the UK.
But Dean told Fiona Phillips and Ben Shepherd on GMTV today: "I'm the first to say that Marc was silly to flirt with Cerys in front of 10 million viewers and his partner, but the thing we all love about Marc is that he's very tactile.
"So I think it's just being in the jungle, it's a mad experience and you can't explain it unless you've been there.
"I've been fortunate to be out with Sarah and Marc at a function together and they're very much in love. They are very touchy-feely and very close."
As touchy feely as Marc's been with Cerys? We can but wonder.
Meanwhile, after saying goodbye to his fellow campers, Marc told Ant and Dec: "It's not panned out right for me. I'm shocked that I could have an intense relationship with Cerys... It's hard not to crave a little bit of love.
"I was struggling with my emotions... I still am!"
Marc's furious girlfriend Sarah earlier admitted she could not watch him "disrespect" her any longer and so returned UK.
She said: "It's been extremely painful to watch the man I love disrespecting me and our two and a half year relationship in front of the nation with a woman he's known for a week."
