EastEnders - Patsy Palmer not bothered by Bianca

31 January 2008 - Patsy Palmer has become "immune" to being called Bianca.

The 'EastEnders' star - who is set to reprise her role as mouthy Bianca Jackson after eight years away from the soap - has revealed people have never stopped calling her by her character's name.

Patsy told Britain's Soaplife magazine: "Even in the eight years I've been off the show people would still call me Bianca. I think I've become immune to it. It goes in one ear and out the other.

"The worst time was when I went to watch a Nigel Benn boxing match and the whole crowd was shouting 'Bianca!' at me. It was quite frightening."

The 35-year-old actress is set to return to Albert Square as Bianca in March, moving in with her grandmother Pat Evans.

She will return as a single-mother with several kids by different fathers, just like her on-screen mother Carol Jackson.

The show is also set to feature the return of actor Sid Owen as mechanic Ricky Butcher, Bianca's ex-husband and the father of her son Liam.

Ricky and Bianca were last seen together in a one-off episode entitled 'EastEnders: Ricky and Bianca' in 2002.

The episode ended with Bianca dumping Ricky, leaving him heartbroken and having to care for Liam.
