Big Brother Celebrity Hijack - Anthony's family speak out

15 January 2008 - Anthony's sister has been revealing what the real Anthony is like.

She said,"It's hard to describe really and put into words...You hear his voice and naturally think he should be upstairs (at home), but he's on television and everyone else can see him - which is a bit surreal."

Toni added, "The first moment I saw Anthony on TV - well it was surreal," Toni said. "The whole family felt really proud and to have even more people watching the opening night as it was on Channel 4 was great. Everyone was so chuffed."

"I know Anthony is a good-looking boy who will get the attention. But I know as well that he will not get big headed about it - and if he keeps his feet on the ground and remains level-headed then who knows?"

"Hopefully it will raise his profile even more, and it's a great opportunity for the sport as well," she added. "He's obviously an amateur boxer and just to get himself recognised for that would be great."

Anthony's old headteacherJohn Clinton added: "He was an extremely likeable young man at Kirkley and someone who we were confident would go on to be very successful. He was a bright lad academically and also a very good boxer and we assumed that he would go on to great success with his boxing. He was fairly confident and very popular with staff and students."
