Emmerdale's Roxanne Pallett is a natural maneater

9 January 2008 - 'Emmerdale' star Roxanne Pallett has confessed she is a natural maneater.

The soap beauty plays sexy Jo Stiles - who stole Andy Sugden from under his wife Katie's nose - but originally auditioned for a much more demure part.

Roxanne told Britain's Soaplife magazine: "I actually auditioned to play the vicar's niece, Jasmine, but I think the writers thought I was too feisty so they offered me Jo instead. I was delighted - Jo's a very sexy character."

The 25-year-old actress has previously revealed women try and hide their husbands from her, in case she tries to steal them in real life.

She said: "I get women pulling their husbands away from me in the supermarket! They think I'm some femme fatale like Jo, it's hilarious.

"I'd never fight over a man. It'd rather go for a bottle of wine with the girls and kick the fella into touch. You shouldn't have to fight for anyone - if a person is the right one, they'll come to you."

But while she enjoys playing a vamp in the hit soap, Roxanne insists she is much more wholesome in real life.

She said: "Anyone who thinks that I strut around the house in suspenders with a glass of champagne will be sorely disappointed. That's not me at all."
