David Beckham doesn't show at charity gig after England drop

1 February 2008 - David Beckham will not be picking up his 100th England cap next week.

Yesterday, England coach Fabio Capello told Beckham he wasn't in the squad for the Switzerland match.

According to The Sun, David Beckham failed to show at a charity bash he was supposed to be hosting last night.

Beckham was supposed to be greeting Elton John and Gordon Brown. The charity bash was for the Liv charity which is for children with cystic fibrosis. It was set up by footballer Thierry Henry.

Instead Beckham flew back to Los Angeles. He says he was ordered to by LA Galaxy.

He recorded a message after he learnt of his England drop which was played at the charity bash.
