I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here - Marc Bannerman's shock exit
22 November 2007 - After causing a storm across the UK with his shameless canoodling with fellow camper Cerys Matthews whilst girlfriend Sarah Matravers could only look on, Marc Bannerman has become the first to be voted out of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.
The viewing public signalled their disapproval of Bannerman's antics last night by making him the first celeb to get the boot, but the key confrontation between Marc and his angry soon-to-be-ex-girlfriend Sarah that we were all waiting for, didn't happen.
Instead Marc left the jungle on his own, with nobody to greet him, and sat down to a rather sheepish interview with Ant and Dec.
"I'm alright, but it was a bit of a shock," Marc told the Geordie presenters as he sipped a glass of champagne. "I really enjoyed meeting everyone and setting up relationships in there."
But upon being quizzed on his scandalous actions in the jungle, Marc replied: "Nothing's going on, we just get on fantastically... I'm in big trouble, aren't I? What's happening?"
What Marc was unaware of was that his girlfriend Sarah Matravers had arrived in Australia saying that she she wanted to throttle him, but left hours before his ejection, saying she wanted to discuss their future "behind closed doors".
He later added: "I want to go back to London right now... I think I've embarrassed myself and I've got to live with that now."
Oh Marc, what have you done?
