Jamie At Home - Jamie explores the world of delicious game birds

9 October 2007 - Jamie Oliver is making a mouth-watering return to his roots, cooking great recipes using ingredients straight from the garden of his Essex home.

The series is a fuss-free guide to getting the best from Mother Nature. It's packed with dozens of new step-by-step recipes, from simple salads to brilliant barbecues.

Jamie has transformed the garden of his Essex home, with the help of gardener Brian, and has discovered a passion for growing his own produce.

Now he wants to show just how easy it is to cultivate amazing fruit and veg at home.

Even if you've only got a balcony or back yard, Jamie shows how to grow fantastic veg and fruit, and turn them into simple, tasty and delicious food.

This week Jamie has been invited on a local shoot and uses the opportunity to explore the world of delicious game birds.

He spends time with local gamekeeper Geoff, who lets him take part in his partridge shoot and discusses how to get involved with the countryside.

And to show just how versatile this under-used part of the culinary world can be, Jamie applies Asian, European - as well as traditional British - cooking principles to get the best out of each bird.
