Scott Matthews

Scott Matthews to support Rufus Wainwright

Acclaimed Wolverhampton singer songwriter Scott Matthews has been confirmed as special guest on Rufus Wainwright's UK tour.

Scott will play on Rufus' eleven-date tour in October 2007, and is no stranger to performing in front of capacity crowds.

He has played some 50 shows around the UK (not forgetting Europe and a breathtaking show at South By Southwest) over the last few months.

Scott will also be playing at many of the major festivals over the summer, including Cornbury Festival on 7th July and Newquay's Ripcurl Boardmasters Unleashed Music Festival in August.

This follows an exquisite performance on the John Peel stage at Glastonbury last week and a performance on Later With Jools Holland that had Damon Albarn and Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol among countless others singing his praises.

Scott is still celebrating his song "Elusive" winning the prestigious 2007 Ivor Novello Award for the "Best Song Musically and Lyrically."

It beat some outstanding competition from Arctic Monkeys' hit When The Sun Goes Down and Nerina Pallot's Sophia.

Elusive is just one of the fantastic songs to feature on his debut album "Passing Stranger", which was released to widespread acclaim in October last year.
