Be it at the cinema, on DVD or on the box, what's the best film you've seen so far this year?

Mine is Transformers - got it on DVD at Christmas, watched it in January in full home cinema surround sound glory.

And it was bloody marvellous!

Optimus Prime is the Don!

Anyone else care to share their faves?

I went to see Ironman with my kids recently.
We all thought it was great.
If you wait till the end of the credits there is a preview of the sequel.
If you are into thye whole super hero sci fi thing then you should check it out.

saw The Edge of Love on Friday. Bit slow to begin with but quite a good, watchable film. Can't wait to see Mamamia - looks like it should be funny.

My fave film of 2008 has just been overtaken by The Wicker Man (Nicolas Cage version).

For somebody who'd never read the book or seen the original Edward Woodward version, and didn't even have an inkling as to how it would end, I thought the film held mystery and suspense throughout.

As the end credits rolled up I was left with that "wow" feeling.

Superb.

and just three weeks after he chose the wicker man... barry the fish has updated his fave film of 2008 to...

THE PRESTIGE - a dark tale of magicians' jealousy when they can't work out each other's best tricks.

It's by the Dark Knight director and stars Christian Bale, Hugh "Wolverine" Jackman, Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, David Bowie and the guy who plays Gollum.

And it's simply outstanding.... probably the best film i've seen in about 2 years.
