Cheryl Cole was banned from asking the audience to voted for her contestants on 'The X Factor' as she filmed the Girls Aloud Christmas special yesterday (03.12.08).

The 25-year-old beauty - who looked stunning in a series of outfits, including a silver floor-length gown, as she shot to ITV show with bandmates Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, Kimberly Walsh and Nadine Coyle - cheekily asked bosses if she should encourage people to vote for her acts Diana Vickers and Alexandra Burke on the TV talent show.

A source said: "Cheryl thought it would be a perfect time to drum up some more support for her acts, but ITV bosses told her it would be against the strict rules and told her, under no circumstances, was she to mention Diana or Alexandra."
'The Girls Aloud Party', which will air between 'The X Factor' final and the results show on December 13, features a performance from the Kaiser Chiefs and appearances by Cilla Black, Paul O'Grady and 'Coronation Street' veteran Julie Goodyear.
