The Bill - Smithy examines the crime scene
Thursday, 10 April 2008
After the shocking murder of Jacko Jackson (Sam Woodward), the grandson of infamous gangster Johnnie (Edward Woodward), Sergeant Smith (Alex Walkinshaw) and DS Max Carter (Christopher Fox) examine the scene of the crime.
The officers eventually find Johnnie who is covered in blood and admits he argued with Jacko but can't remember all the details due to the onset of Alzheimer's.
The investigation soon focuses on Roger Hutton (Tim Woodward), Johnnie's illegitimate son, who has a motive after Jacko confessed all to the police about Hutton's drug and prostitution racquet.
Smithy and Max later talk to Hutton's mother and Johnnie's long term lover, Doreen Fallon (Ann Mitchell) who claims that Johnnie was with her the time Jacko died.
After Hutton continues to deny knowing anything about the murder, Jacko's girlfriend and illegal immigrant, Anya Herdlitska (Simona Armstrong) is brought in for questioning.
She finally admits that she and Jacko had a physical fight but protests to killing him.
Max and Smithy are stunned when she finally confesses that she later returned to the flat to find a distraught Johnnie cradling Jacko, both covered in blood.
Max and Smithy are frustrated when the list of suspects grows and a third set of prints are found at the murder scene.
This episode is on ITV1, Thursday 10 April 2008 @ 8-9pm.
