The Bill - Explosion at Sun Hill
Thursday, 1 May 2008
PCs Emma Keane (Melanie Gutteridge) and Sally Armstrong (Ali Bastian) are out on patrol when two explosions are heard and the officers watch horrified as a thick black smoke spreads across the sky.
With multiple casualties to deal with, Sergeant Stone (Sam Callis) takes charge of aftermath along with officers from Sun Hill and Barton Street police stations.
Sally, Emma and PC Will Fletcher (Gary Lucy) deal with the rising hysteria with Inspector Gina Gold (Roberta Taylor) and Superintendent John Heaton (Daniel Flynn) back at the station - the footage on the news stuns them all.
Working hard and fast the police officers deal with continual challenges and dramas that unfold.
Terrified people desperate for information, wives terrified when they can't get hold of their husbands, exploitative thieves riding off the back of a London suddenly gripped by panic.
The day is made even more unbearable when Emma and Stone realise a man has been pretending to be a doctor in order to molest injured women.
Stone reaches boiling point and a chase ensues and on catching the guy it becomes rapidly clear to Emma that Stone is not planning an arrest.
This episode is on ITV1, Thursday 1 May 2008 @ 8-9pm.
