The Apprentice - Raef Bjayou likes to dress up
Thursday, 22 May 2008
Raef Bjayou thinks business people shouldn't be afraid to have fun.
Last night Raef Bjayou became the tenth person fired by Alan Sugar after failing to impress on the tissue advert challenge.
He has revealed all to the official Apprentice website: "It was a very positive experience which I absolutely loved. I enjoyed working with the other candidates, and I relished the lessons I learnt on the show. I'd recommend the experience to anyone."
Raef liked having a laugh with the other contestants: "I like to dress up. I wore the teddy bear outfit at the wedding show, and I thought we ought to wear local outfits in Morocco.
"Don't forget the fake Italian accents and moustaches in the pub task. For me, it's important to do the job well... but it's good to have a bit of fun as well. Businessmen and women are often seen as dull and that's unfair."
Raef makes no excuses for his dandy dressing gown: "As old fashioned as that and my PJs may come across, that's what I wear - not Superman pyjamas.
"I think most men have a pair of Superman or Batman PJs tucked away, though. Alex is the only person who had the guts to wear them."
No one expected Raef to be fired last night as he had been the favourite to win. He is disappointed to not have landed the job with Alan Sugar but is looking forward to his next challenge.
He explains: "I have my own import and export company which distributes pharmaceuticals to Western and Central Africa, and I also have a small portfolio of properties in London.
"I've enjoyed my Apprentice experience and I'd love to pursue something completely different. You know, I'd love to try a bit of acting... but I think I'll leave directing to other people."
