Lorraine Tighe close to breakdown

'The Apprentice' contestant Lorraine Tighe is close to a nervous breakdown, her friends claim.
The mother-of-two - who reached the semi-finals of the BBC One show, in which Sir Alan Sugar searches for a new employee - struggled to cope with negative attention she received from the public when she appeared on the show and friends feared she would end up in a clinic, like 'Britain's Got Talent' runner-up Susan Boyle.
One friend told Britain's Grazia magazine: "She could have easily ended up like Susan, having to check herself into a clinic. It's really easy to see how someone who's under that amount of pressure - who's been built up on one of those shows and then subjected to all that public comment and ridicule - could snap. Lorraine has come very close to that point.
"She's had a lot of trouble sleeping, lost a huge amount of weight and been very, very stressed. The way she's been portrayed on the show, and the reaction the media and the public had has deeply shocked and devastated her. She's wondering what she's done to deserve it."
Friends say the 36-year-old has been abused by members of the public, who have vilified her for both her looks and behaviour.
A spokesperson for 'The Apprentice' however insists Lorraine has been well looked after and is happy with her time on the show.
