Jonathan Ross' Apprentice show
Monday, 28 July 2008
Jonathan Ross has reportedly signed up to star in 'Celebrity Apprentice'.
The talk show host will join forces with comedians Alan Carr and Johnny Vegas and will attempt to hold his own against Amstrad boss Sir Alan Sugar, who decides who is hired and who is fired on the reality show.
A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Jonathan is the king of the crafty put-down, but can he handle Sir Alan? Obviously he has a bulging contacts book of star names he can call on for help. But whether or not he will be as good as sweet-talking Sir Alan as he is them remains to be seen."
The show, which will be broadcast in March, will raise money for charity Comic Relief.
Bosses are determined to sign up some comedy talent to help persuade viewers to part with their hard-earned money during the credit crunch.
A TV insider said: "Next year could be a tough one for the fundraiser. As rising prices hit people hard, they may be less willing to dig deep charity. By getting some big names on board for the telethon night we hope we can convince them to think again."
