Kate Walsh and Yasmina Siadatan will go head to head in the final of 'The Apprentice'.

The two female contestants excelled in the gruelling interview round of the BBC business reality show last night (03.06.09),while Lorraine Tighe, James McQuillan and Debra Barr were fired.

Host Sir Alan Sugar said the two finalists, both 27, were: "The best we've ever had".

Lorraine, 36, was the first semi-finalist to be sent home.

She said: "I would personally like Kate to win. However on this occasion I think the title should go deservedly to Yasmina. She's pretty sharp, she's pretty good."

James, 32, was the next to go, leaving Debra and Kate in tears. He was disappointed to leave, but admitted he thought Sir Alan made the right decision.

He said: "I think he's definitely picked the right two for the final."

Debra was the last contestant to be fired, but left with Sir Alan's assurance that she had a bright career ahead of her.

Despite Sir Alan's kind words, Debra insisted he'd made a mistake, saying: "If Sir Alan Sugar didn't hire Kate it would be the second biggest mistake of his life after the first - not putting me in the final."

The final show - to be aired on Sunday (07.06.09) - will be the second all-female final of the past five series.

Kate and Yasmina will lead teams made up of the fired contestants to design and manufacture a new box of chocolates.

The winner will receive a £100,000 job as Sir Alan's apprentice.
