Sexier Come dancing

'Strictly Come Dancing' bosses want to hire "younger and sexier" dancers for the show.

In a bid to increase ratings, chiefs at the BBC dancing show want to introduce more sexy routines, younger dancers and top celebrities, emulating the US version of the show, 'Dancing With The Stars'.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "No one could ever say 'Strictly Come Dancing' is not a huge hit. We can't compete with the Americans' massive budget, but we realise the dancers are younger and sexier.

"'Strictly' goes head to head with 'The X Factor', which has a lot of young viewers. We want to steal some of their 16 to 23 audience."

The show has already imported two dancers - Brian Fortuna and Kristina Rihanoff - from the US and the raunchy routines of ex-S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens and partner Vincent Simone were a big hit in the show's 2008 run, which saw them placed runners-up overall.

Younger contestants on the show, such as Rachel and 2007 winner Alesha Dixon, prove popular contestants on the show.

Singer Alesha is also rumoured to be lined up as a replacement host for the show's regular presenter, Tess Daly, who is due to give birth to her second child in June.

'Strictly Come Dancing' will return to screens later this year.
