Julia Haworth's 'Strictly Come Dancing' ambition
Sunday, 17 May 2009
Julia Haworth wants to appear in 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 'Coronation Street' actress - who plays Claire Peacock in the ITV soap -has ambitions outside of the programme, but while she doesn't want to star in reality TV, she would consider taking part in the BBC dance show.
She said: "I'd love to do more theatre and radio, or period drama. I'd also like to have a crack at writing and directing. I wouldn't dream of doing any reality TV - apart from perhaps 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The mother-of-one has played Claire since 2003 and says she was overwhelmed with the public response she received when her first episode was aired.
She said: "I've done some acting work I'm really proud of, but no one blinked an eyelid. After I first appeared in 'Coronation Street' the phone didn't stop ringing with people saying well done. You'd have thought I'd won the lottery or something."
