Shipwrecked - Barrie is homesick on Shark island
Tuesday, 6 May 2008
Prison officer Barrie has found this week tough.
Barrie is missing his friends and family back home.
He revealed all on his official Shipwrecked blog: "There have been hard times as I found out two days ago. For no apparent reason I found myself sitting on the beach and thinking.
"The worst thing you can do here is have alone time as that's when you really have the time to think.
"It may sound like the ideal thing to do, to sit on white sand looking across a blue lagoon but it's also your worst nightmare, but hey I would never change this for the world."
Barrie has decided to keep himself busy as this will stop him thinking of home.
He really enjoys the company of the other Sharks and has been building a new hut: "The last few days we have been working on the new hut.
"I use the word 'working' very loosely (ha ha). As you may or may not know we are not the most motivated people.
"So we have an outside frame ready for a roof. Don't think we will be seeing that roof any time soon!"
