Thursday, 15 May 2008
Musician, broadcaster and TV presenter, Myleene Klass hosts this star-studded gala evening as some of the world's biggest classical music artists gather at London's Royal Albert Hall for The Classical BRIT Awards 2008 sponsored by NS&I.
Riding high on the success of her own album Music For Mothers, which topped the Classical Compilation chart, Myleene will be joined by a glittering array of operatic legends providing exclusive world class performances.
Grammy nominated and the multi-platinum selling artist Andrea Bocelli will be taking centre stage and performing at this year's awards alongside other greats including world-renowned Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel CBE, the biggest-selling US artist of 2007 Josh Groban, Russian soprano Anna Netrebko and, making her Classical BRITS performance debut, Sarah Brightman.
"The Classical BRITS is the biggest event in the classical calendar," said Myleene.
"To be the host is a personal highlight in my career.
I'm really looking forward to presenting a ceremony that is so close to my heart and I'm sure it will be a magical evening."
In celebration of Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's 60th birthday and in recognition of his hugely successful career, he will be presented with special award for Outstanding Achievement.
This episode is on ITV, Thursday 15 May 2008 @ 10.35-11.50pm.
