The Nolan Sisters´ surgery show

Nolans say no to surgery makeover show

Monday, 9 June 2008

The Nolan sisters have declined the chance to feature in a new reality TV show which sees bands from the 70s and 80s have plastic surgery makeovers before singing their hits of old.

As we originally reported last month, a Living TV show, entitled Pop Goes The Band, aimed to offer a host of decades-old acts the opportunity of looking exactly as they did at the height of their fame by using the skills of cosmetic surgeons, nutritionists, personal trainers and stylists.

The acts involved would then take to the stage to sing their famous songs to family, friends and fans.

However, Denise Nolan, speaking exclusively to My Park Magazine, tells us that their family group - including Maureen, Coleen and Bernie - would find it impossible to do the show.

"It would be almost impossible for us to find a window where we were all free to spend weeks doing what the show has in mind," says Denise.

"Most of us didn't want to do the show anyway because reality shows are just not for us.

"It sounds like great fun and we will watch the show and wait for the results eagerly.

"Apart from that we all have very separate careers.

"People are always asking when we are going to get together and do a tour - It's hard enough managing to do it for a birthday party so that or this TV show is out of the question, sadly."

The show, which is still due to appear on Living TV this summer, could still feature Kajagoogoo and Dollar, although Bananarama will not appear.
