Madonna set for 'Question Time'

Madonna has been asked to appear on 'Question Time'.

The 50-year-old singer was invited by host David Dimbleby to join the panel for the BBC's political debate show, in which guests discuss the major talking points of the week.

Dimbleby, 70, revealed the approach during the audience 'warm-up' session for last week's edition adding he was confident the singer will appear later this year.

If Madonna does take up the offer, she will join a long list of well-known faces to appear on the panel.

Earlier this month, singer Jarvis Cocker joined a debate about the economic downturn, MPs' expenses and the influence the late Michael Jackson had on popular culture.

Singer Will Young has also previously appeared, as has 'This Morning' host Fern Britton and 'Britain's Got Talent' judge Piers Morgan.

The 'Question Time' panel usually includes members from a more political background.

The show is filmed in different parts of the country every week, to give the public in different areas a chance to join the debate and air their views.
