Jody Latham has vowed to quit 'Hell's Kitchen' before he reaches the final.

The former 'Shameless' star thinks winning the ITV reality cooking show would harm his acting career.

Jody, 23, said: "I won't be in the final and I don't want to be in the final. I have this thing that I don't want to be number one or number two.

"For me it's about participating in the show, it's not about the media attention you get afterwards. I'm trying to avoid the whole 'celebrity' thing. I just want to get the job done and still hopefully have a career when I get out of here."

Jody is one of the favourites to win the show - which features eight contestants including TV presenter Anthea Turner, former footballer Bruce Grobbelaar and pop star Ms Dynamite - after impressing mentor and judge, triple Michelin starred chef Marco Pierre White, on the opening night in the kitchen on Monday (13.04.09).

Jody has previously said he's hoping to pick up some tips from Marco to use in his own restaurant, Jacks, which opens in Lancashire tomorrow (16.04.09), although he won't be attending as he is isolated from the outside world for the duration of 'Hell's Kitchen'.

He said: "I don't have much experience in the industry and I figured there's no time like the present to learn and there's no better person to learn from than Marco really. I'll be in the kitchen with my cameraphone taking pictures of the dishes!"

Meanwhile Marco has revealed he will leave the kitchen in tonight's (15.04.09) episode, putting one of the celebrities in charge.

He tells the contestants: "At some point during the service, I will step out and hand someone the reins and they will take over. You'll find out about two minutes before I leave."
