I'd Do Anything - Jessie Buckley wants to win

Friday, 30 May 2008

Jessie Buckley is so glad she's made it to the final.

Her family have been behind her all the way and really hope she wins the part of Nancy.

Her mum has revealed all to the official I'd Do Anything website: "I'm possibly the proudest mum in Ireland, or the whole world. Reflecting on her whole journey through this programme, it's been remarkable.

"She's so young, this was her first big audition ever, and she's come through all of the ups and the downs, and as a mum I'm so proud of how she's handled both of those, and now here she is in the final and it's just incredible!

"Jessie is the eldest of five children, so she has had a very grounded upbringing, coming from a very busy home. And I would like to think that our approach to this whole experience has helped her to stay so grounded."

Marina Buckley never thought that her daughter would get so far in the competition: "I was with her on that very first day and I remember being just so bowled over when she came running out to she'd got through.

"We really had no idea where this journey was going to take her, and what an incredible experience and amazing learning opportunity it would be for her.

"Being a musician myself, I know what it takes for every step of progress in this business, and I have fully appreciated and acknowledged every step that Jessie has taken.

"I've seen huge development and improvement over the ten weeks of the show, and I've said to her all along – there is nothing that you can't learn."
