I'd Do Anything - Graham Norton says Olivers will steal the show

Thursday, 27 March 2008

I'd Do Anything presenter Graham Norton has claimed the young actors vying for the role of Oliver could outshine the Nancys.

He told the Manchester Evening News that women across the country will think the young children are cute.

"When they walk onto the live shows, all across the country, a thousand ovaries will be popping," the 44-year-old presenter claimed.

"People who thought they'd given up on having kids will say, 'Shall we try again?' We might have one of them'," he added.

He also told the newspaper that the search for a new Oliver and Nancy is different than previous musically-themed reality shows such as Any Dream Will Do and How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria.

The I'd Do Anything judging panel includes Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Barry Huumphries, John Barrowman and Denise Van Outen.

According to the BBC, money from each vote for the role of Nancy will contribute to the corporation's Performing Arts Fund, which provides bursaries to aspiring musicians and performers.

There are still 12 contenders for the role of Oliver and another dozen hopefuls competing for the role of Nancy.
